Obituary

Elwood Marvin Grant, 91, of Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach was called home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2010.

He was a life long resident of Virginia Beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Marvin and Kathleen Cutrell Grant; his daughter, Carolyn Mae and his wife, Verna Mae Hewitt Grant; three brothers Edward Lloyd Baxter and Robert L. Grant.

He was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and Kempsville Masonic Lodge 196.

He retired from the Norfolk Ship Building and Dry-Dock Company as foreman of the blacksmith shop.

He is survived by five sisters-in-law Myrtle P. Hewitt of Virginia Beach, Melva H. Kirby of Chesapeake, Virginia, Helen Hewitt of Norfolk, Virginia, Linda Grant of New York, and Helen Grant of California, a brother -in-law William T. Hewitt of Chesapeake and many nieces, nephews and long time friends.
